Scones

Serving size 12 scones Ingredients

3 cups Self-Rising Flour

1 tsp Salt

60g Butter

1 Cup Milk









Method

  1. Preheat oven to 230 degrees

  2. Sift flour and slat into a bowl and rub in the butter

  3. Once the flour represents the texture similar to bread crumbs make a well in the centre and pour in half of the milk and combine, if dry add more milk

  4. Cut dough in to portions with a cookie cutter or a small glass, place on a lined baking tray and brush with milk, Bake for 10-15 minutes

Notes

  • Ensure not to overwork the dough otherwise to much air will be pushed out and the gluten strands will be overly stretch making a very tough final product

  • You can also use an egg wash if preferred
